Dielectric Behavior of a Liquid Crystal Polymer
◎Peng Yang・Yoshimichi Ohki(Waseda University)
In this paper, experimental analysis on the dielectric behavior was carried out for a liquid crystal polymer processed using the mother resin of Vectra A950. It is indicated that the temperature-dependent phase transition of this polymer gives a certain influence on its dielectric properties revealed by thermally stimulated currents and complex permittivity. Complex electric modulus proves to be a powerful tool for analyzing the dielectric behavior by suppressing an ill effect of a large electric current at high temperatures. In addition, film making processes done by different suppliers seem not to affect the dielectric properties of the films.
