The cross-linked PE(XLPE) has been most widely used for the power cable insulating layer because of its outstanding properties such as electrical breakdown and mechanical strength. However, XLPE is unrecyclable when disposed after replacement and demolishing because it becomes thermosetting through cross-linked process. Recently, properties test of cable insulator material is in progress in order to replace XLPE.
In this work, we tested ACBD test and ALT using McKeown electrode system and performed water tree degradation test using water tree cell. And we tested space charge distribution in samples.
