Combined Chemotaxis-infotaxis Strategy for Odor Source Localization using Multiple Sensor Nodes
◎Muis Muhtadi・中本高道(東京工業大学)
We present combined approach of chemotaxis and infotaxis for odor source localization and concentration distribution mapping using several moveable sensor nodes. Several nodes equipped with odor sensors cooperatively move using chemotaxis strategy to collect odor information. This collected information is used to construct odor distribution map locally on a rectangular area wherein all nodes positions are covered. This map becomes an infotaxic reference for the sensor nodes to determine the direction of searching and to avoid unnecessary overlapping scanning area among the nodes. This odor map is updated periodically and moved along with the nodes movement toward estimated odor source location.
